Dates & Fees

The Brown University Simulation of the United Nations (BUSUN) strives to make the conference affordable for all schools. Please peruse this page for clarification of our fee structure.

Registration Deadlines:

• August 1 - Summer Registration Deadline
• September 11 - Country assignments and background papers mailed to registered schools.
• October 1 - Fall Registration Deadline
• October 2 - Delegate lists due. Last day to withdraw with a full refund. Any changes in numbers will cost half of delegate fee for each delegate who drops out.
• October 19 - Position papers due.
• October 30 - Final delegate list due. No refund for changes in numbers.
• November 1 - Deadline to sign up for a Brown campus tour.
• November 14 - First day of BUSUN; delegate fees must be paid.
  

Fees:

Paperless Delegation Registration Fees:
Elect to receive background papers and the pre-conference delegate guide via our website and save $10 off of your registration fee!
   $55 - If registration and delegation fee is received before August 1st, 2008
   $65 - If registration and delegation fee is received before October 1st, 2008

Paper Delegation Registration Fee:
   $65 - If registration and delegation fee is received before August 1st, 2008
   $75 - If registration and delegation fee is received before October 1st, 2008

Delegate Fee: $45 per delegate

Chaperone Fee (only for additional chaperones): $10
Due to the increasing costs of running the conference each year, we are forced to charge a $10 fee per chaperone for each chaperone exceeding the ratio of 1 chaperone per 10 delegates.

Shuttle Service / Person $8
This service will be provided to and from the hotels where BUSUN has blocked rooms

All fees except the Delegation Registration Fee can be paid on site during conference registration. However, the Delegation Registration Fee must be received by the indicated deadlines before we can process your registration. Please make all checks out to "Brown University Model UN". We do not accept credit cards as a method of payment.

BUSUN Cancellation Policy:
Although delegation fees are nonrefundable, BUSUN will refund delegate fees if you cancel before October 30, 2008, according to the following schedule:

Cancel by October 2, 2008: Full Refund ($45 per delegate)
Cancel between October 2 and October 30, 2008: 50% Refund ($22.50 per delegate)
Cancel after October 30, 2008: No refund
