Country Selection

Country Selection Chart BUSUN Policies
  • Partner Policy for BUSUN: NO PARTNERS, or double delegates, are allowed at BUSUN. There is a limit of one delegate per country in each committee, no exceptions.
  • Whenever possible, we will assign you seats in all committees listed on the country selection chart for the country you request. However, please understand that the need for equality in geographic representation and the importance of countries in certain committees may require us to differ slightly from our country selection chart.
How to Choose Countries
  • Smaller countries currently lacking a large role in international politics may become significant in the near future. Choosing small countries allows your delegates to gain a new perspective on world events and potentially play an unexpectedly important role.
  • If your delegates are interested in participating in a particular committee, make sure that the country you choose is represented on that committee.
  • Consult your delegates in choosing countries. They will be much more enthusiastic about representing a country that they are interested in and have helped choose.
  • Make sure that you have enough delegates to fill all of the committee seats occupied by your country. Please only request countries you think you can fill. You can consult the country selection chart to see how many delegates are required for each country.
  • We try our best to honor requests for complimentary countries - countries that are geographically or ideologically similar to each other (e.g. Belgium and Luxemburg). You may request these preferences on the second column in the country selection section of the registration form. For your convenience, we have included a list of caucus blocs of countries with similar policies below.
